Paul, lots of people looked at his pictures of UFOs and most of them could not be identified as hoaxes. As time goes by, people joined in and corruption set in. Billy is an old man now and others are probably influencing him. It is a rule, everything becomes corrupted on Planet Earth, nothing escapes. Do your own research. Take the best and leave the rest.
I am of the belief that Billy Meier had so many people attack him that it must have been truthful in his eyes. I haven't felt th necessity to investigate it. So much of the original evidence has been destroyed or missing. He gave complete trust to close friends and they ended up betraying him, in my opinion.
Here's some more information. I received the newest version of the TJ yesterday, ordered from the theyfly.com site. There was a business card that said Michael Horn is the media director for Billy's organization. The 2011 TJ translation, finally translated and published in English a few months ago, is much larger as each page in English is on the right and on the left is the German translation (which is the language the scrolls were translated into, which preservation Billy is said to have felt was important because of the differences in translation), plus commentary and additional information provided by the Plejarens and others in the higher realms.
One of the reasons for the new version is because the original translator, Issa Rashid, had let his own notions of Christianity sway the way some portions were translated. The 2011/2016 version is said to correct it. This, of course, could possibly open the door to error. It is a real shame the originals were destroyed. However, it was speculated that since the author of Matthew had a copy, it's possible that it and possibly another copy(ies), might surface sometime, assuming what was found was the original.
As for the Pleiadians now being the Plejarens, the explanation was that the Plejarens come from an area on the far side of the Pleiades and they originally used that name because it was a known name to earth people. This new version of the TJ is quite large and will take some time to digest. Thus, for discussion purposes, we'll use the earlier TJ, the one that has been authenticated.
The authentication was performed by Dr. James Deardorff, whom I learned "recently" passed on the ordering page at theyfly.com. That page was undated, so I don't know when he passed, but since the book became available in October 2016, thus the ordering page was put up around that time, it must mean he passed the latter part of 2016. It boils down to he never had the opportunity to see the 2016 English translation. So, his authentication is on the earlier English version of the TJ. Anyway, he retired to investigate the TJ and spent six years doing so. Some of his findings are on his website (free). The rest are in his book, "Celestial Teachings" ($50). But, for now, because of his education and professional status as a scientist and researcher in other areas, I am initially accepting his conclusion that the TJ is valid and does not show signs of being a hoax.

I was just pondering that question before I even read your comment above, interesting that I was thinking about this. Well, as I was searching more it also stated that there was no proof or evidence of the actual documents of the TJ, it conveniently disappeared with the one that was deciphering it. The only stuff BILLY the Kid got back was the deciphered copy seems. And now he wants to proclaim he is a guru and the once were Pleidians now Plejarans telepathically lead him to it.
I began reading the futureofmankind.com site and wasn't getting much out of it. Maybe it was just the article. So, what do you think, does this made the TJ a hoax, too? Or could it have been real, but it all went to his head? Or, he's okay but he fell into the hands of an unscrupulous one?
