From what I understand there is only one bulb that is still allowed to be made and sold in the US and it is a rough service one that mechanics use in a drop light fixture. They have a heavier filament inside which will use more electricity but probably not enough to worry about. I will check an auto parts store to see if those are available. I will not comply with them either. I wonder if we can purchase them from Canada.
I am too. I very much dislike the new bulbs. The lighting acts like a mood depressant, they are fabulously expensive, and toxic. If I can find any around, I'm going to stock up. Maybe we consumers should refuse to buy the new ones and go to oil lamps for a month or two, and put the toxic guys out of business.

I am starting to run out of incandescents and I am becoming very unhappy about that.
Every time one burns out or blows up I replace it with an incandecsent.
