#Jose has rocketed to Cat 4 status w/top winds of 150 mph. It'll move near or just NE of hard-hit Leeward Islands. http://bit.ly/2weiwIZ

It's travel speed, which is probably based on numerous factors, like water temperature, winds, slow downs over islands, etc.

This map has Jose heading for the Carolina coast on 09/17.
I've had shots like that, what looked awesome to the eye wasn't captured by the camera. Once I saw a cloud shaped like a dragon, but it didn't come out.

OK but still weird

My guess is the smoke is filtering it and what the eye could pick up, the camera couldn't.

Thanks Cheryl boy is that smaller than I was seen by my wife and I.
It shows up as very slightly red. The clouds do have a slight reddish tint to them. Now that I can see the sun's position, it is there in your original, just very faint.

Can you send me a copy of what you got? I can put it through photoshop and see if I can tease it out. Maybe the camera was picking up the smoke more than the red sun.
