Hurricane Florence Downgraded to Cat 2, BUT....

https://kxlf.com/cnn-national/2018/09/13/hurricane-florence-has-weakened-but-it-will-still-be-devastating/

Don’t be fooled by the fact that Florence has weakened slightly to a Category 2 hurricane; categories only denote the speed of sustained winds. What makes this hurricane extremely dangerous are the deadly storm surges, mammoth coastal flooding and historic rainfall expected far inland.

“I don’t care if this goes down to a Category 1,” CNN meteorologist Chad Myers said. “We’re still going to have a Category 4 storm surge.”

You'll be very fortunate, if you get out of this storm with only 2 inches, Cheryl.  I'd keep my fingers crossed if I were you...

This article says the internet, as usual, turned something into a disaster that's not.  Staff are being rotated, using a helicopter to get them in and out.

  • I hope so.  Paths can change, though they are usually right.

  • Latest projection shows Florence knicking D.C.  While way to the west of me, today's emergency email says the expected 1-2" rain is coming off of Florence.

  • Finally, we are expected to get 1-2" of rain tonight.  Winds nothing out of the ordinary.  Also note Health Ranger's observation that Florence is just sitting on top of the Brunswick nuclear power plant churning water.  I think that clinches the suspicion that Florence is a controlled storm.

The below graph does show Florence with her feet out of the Atlantic (finally) and have heard nothing that the Brunswick plant was breached. The projection still indicates it will go through nuclear-free areas until it reaches PA, but by then it should be weaker.

  • Since this storm appears to be manipulated, and no nuclear plants have blown up, that just might be the case.

What better way to TRAP the Swamp Critters than to TRAP them IN and around D.C.,  while Trump ARRESTS some of them.....

Planes are grounded, roads are flooded, water is too deep to drive through, UNLESS you're in a high military vehicle....what better way to bottle up the swamp critters than a hurricane?  I suspect that Trump is hard at work....

Just got this email from http://www.emergencyemail.org/hurricane/.  It's now going just west of southwest Virginia.  If the blue clouds on the left are connected to the storm on the right (which they do), it looks like the storm has been gutted in the middle.  Is this normal for a tropical storm.

And the same outfit sent out the below alert.  It is no worse than a normal storm in this region...

  • I wish it would steer farther away to the mid sections of the u.s. where they could use some rain. We here in Pennsylvania and Maryland don't need anymore damn ring for at least 2 weeks! Gordon already dropped 8 inches on us 7 days ago and my sump pump is still running.

  • I'm to the west of the Blue Ridge Parkway.  What really gets hit is Roanoke, from the rain coming off the Appalachians.  (The are the "gateway to the Appalachians," elevation 800', with mountains 2000 to 2500' that dump its overflow into the Roanoke Valley.

Mountains to west of you, will dump more  precipitation there; flooding upstream.
