  • Yep, we have them here too, just not at my place.  Out in the hills and mountains mostly.  Usually see a flock or two every time we go out......

If your too hot go sit under a banana tree. This is my second winter of being too cold, vitamin D 3 only comes in a pill anymore, I doubt if we will have a real spring again this year so I am waiting for summer. The wild turkeys have chosen my front yard to mate in this year the male puffs his feathers  out and his head turns blue while he circles his girls. there is about 40 hens and 5 Toms that show up, how did they know my yard needed fertilizing, what a mess.

It's 65 today, going up to 75 by Monday.  Y-A-H-O-O !  It's Springtime in the Rockies!  Birds are singing and doing what birds do in the Springtime.  My girlfriend says it's too hot outside.  Our dog is taking a nap on the back porch, under the shade of our globe willow tree.  Yes, it's already leafed out, and making good shade from the hot Sun Simulator.....

  • Yes it is. We had 12 in overnight. The wind is really cold. It is sunny with a milky white sky.  I do not recalled when we had so much snow in the spring. I am trying to figure out when I am going to start my vegetable seedling. Since I injured my back, my husband did the shoveling. Solar minimum sucks. I cannot stand the sight of snow anymore.

  • My son.

  • Yep.  The people that live here call it "Happy Valley".  High desert valley (4700 feet elev.) ringed by 10,000 ft. mountains, containing 200 cold water lakes within a 50 mile radius of Grand Junction.  Colorado River and Gunnison Rivers run through it.  In 1-1/2 hrs. I can be on Lake Powell, in the warm lower desert of Utah.  Best elk hunting in North America.

World's largest outdoor hot springs pool (Olympic size) is 90 miles away on the Interstate 70, in Glenwood Springs, where Doc Holiday spent his last days.  Of course, there are all kinds of ski resorts a short drive away, but us locals shun them.  Too much like Ca. in Aspen and Telluride.   Full of yuppies and high prices.  Yep, it's kind of nice living in a small town in Western Colorado, halfway between Salt Lake City and Denver..... we even raise grapes here, along with apples, pears, and the best peaches in the world.  Yep, Byron.  Eat your heart out.....
