We just learned that a friend of my son had a friend named Adam who was struck and killed by lightning in last night's storm.  He was within a 20 mile radius of where we live. 

Porches are NOT safe to be on.  You need to be in an enclosed shelter or hard-topped vehicle.  Stay away from windows, sinks and bathtubs (and don't be taking a bath during a storm), unplug appliances and all that.  Read the articles.

  • Sorry to hear. I am the type that is terrified of lightning and i will hide in a closet or in the basement lol if there is a lot of lightning.
