Were not safe now and have not been for a while the superbugs are coming from the hospitals and some are very contagious. I have a friend that went in the hospital with one deadly bacteria they stopped it but now he has the VRE version and it deadly He was moved to a specialty clinic that that only does antibiotic resistant disease and bacteria and they just have a couple empty rooms of the over 400 they have filled. After talking to the RN's in the hosp and clinic this is not anything new at all and it has been covered up. There is now a class action suit against hospitals spreading antibiotic resistant bacteria using robotics for surgery. I live in a rural area and it has hit here.
