The Post reported on Monday afternoon that the grand jury has finally reached a decision after spending weeks receiving testimony and evidence concerning the August shooting death of Brown, 18.

The decision itself has not yet been announced, but could be made public as early as Monday afternoon.

Depending on the grand jury’s findings, Wilson, 28, could face charges ranging from manslaughter to first-degree murder.

Wilson fired six shots at Brown on August 9 in Ferguson, a small town of around 20,000 outside of St. Louis. The absence of charges filed in the initial aftermath and the handling of the situation by local police enforcement quickly propelled the story into the national spotlight, with protests in Ferguson and elsewhere waging a series of demonstrations in recent months.

  • Someone in authority in Ferguson commented they needed 10,000 police to contain the problem.  Rather unfortunate thing to say publicly.  And to bring in the kids, one has to wonder if they even understand "systematic racism."  Ah, but gov't schools are thought reformation camps, aren't they?

It is beyond belief how far out of control things seem to be heading. How could any intelligent person add children into this insanity. They should bus the children to the white palace where their real problem is. This was a staged false flag from the beginning and as long as the provocateurs are still there it will go on longer.

Sounds like biased journalism.  The protesters don't accept a grand juries verdict.  It was a 100% verdict and there were three black folks on the jury.  They think fighting a perceived wrong with wrong is justice.  It's not.  What they are calling for is to hang a person found innocent as a punishment (to whom?) to other wrongs, but that is not justice.

  • Al Sharpton said on TV a few minutes ago that those who protest with dignity and non-violence are on Michael Brown's side and those who protest in a destructive violent manner are not.  Don't know if that's gonna help.

  • It could be they wanted the racial divide to deepen (or, could be a distraction from other things playing out nationally).  Obama played the stern father, while I suspect his sympathies (and possibly actions) are otherwise.

I think if they really wanted to find a solution, they would have appointed a person or committee to immediately get working on the problem and channel that raw emotional energy into something constructive.  You know, put your money where your mouth is.

The question McCullough was asked, why not make the announcement in the morning? was a good suggestion (but he blew it off saying it had already been decided).  I can understand making the announcement after work and school hours so people are at home and safe, but daytime is not prime looting time (because the criminal element is more visible).  And while it might have only delayed the event, it would have given more time for people to cool off and settle down.  Schools and businesses were going to be closed anyway.  Watch how nothing will happen until next time it blows up.

It was obvious they were letting the protesters have their moment.  They easily could have called a curfew.  Of course, that fuels conspiracy theories that freedom of speech is dead and creates more ammunition to be used against the establishment.  Public safety vs. police state.  They walk a fine line.

I think they made a big deal about free speech to make people think they still have it.  It's all show.  And that "freedom" was a one-night stand.  The mayor has already said there will be no repeat of that behavior tonight.  Of course, criminal activity does not equate to freedom of speech, but when the criminals use legitimate protests to obfuscate their crimes, it makes it hard for everyone.

I suggest that anyone caught committing violence during a peaceful protest is working against finding a solution and they themselves are perpetuating the problem, and should be answerable to the community at large.  Stock and pillory the lot of them!  Let the peaceful protesters and community publicly humiliate them.  Get counselors to give them counseling.  Putting already angry people in jail does nothing but make them more angry.

I'm waiting for the lawsuits from businesses (and their insurance companies) who were damaged because the gov't didn't call a curfew.

  • The morning after... what could of been done, what should have been done, and what was not done that could have lessened the impact of this event to the town of St Louis....

The hard lesson would have been not to allow assembly on the streets of Ferguson that evening and this might  have been avoided...business's spared and the community still intact. The governor appeased the few and  failed to protect the many.  The state of emergency was not used properly.  And if used in this manner, the world would have looked on in ''Outrage' and called this another example of  improper force.   IMO.

  • Saw rows of cars set on fire too.  Sheesh!  Like what is this all this destruction to accomplish?

  • Bands of looters are being seen carrying cans of kerosene....unreal!!

  • I am listening to an online police scanner of St Louis...this is like a war zone...looting, police officer shot, small business's burning, sporadic gun fire.....high power rifle being heard...automatic weapons fire... buildings are being left to burn  to the ground....

Law enforcement and EMS are just overwhelmed with the rapid pace of the destruction.  Entire areas are being shut down in attempts to contain this...
