The star Betelgeuse which is about 600 light-years away, will already have exploded-and we'll soon be in for a spectacular, and perfectly safe, inerstellar fireworks show. Betelgeuse when Super Nova around 1411. We just can't see it yet. One thing about the SN. It will rise in the sky at midnight on Sept 22, 2011. Belelgeuse will light up the Easter sky as if it dawn and at dawn we going to see 2 suns in the sky.

Since we're all speculating, I think it's very interesting that Sept. 23rd falls on a Friday, so Friday evening would be the begining of the Jewish Sabbath. So if we should notice somrthing in the nighttime sky, (such as a super-nova), that would be quite a coincidence. Especially since it's the Feast of the Trumpets and the auturmnal equinox.
