  • As to the fresh ones out of college, after the crash, it made it hard on a lot of people 40+ in the corporate world who lost jobs to even find a job at the rate they were being paid.  And companies of course lean towards picking the young ones fresh out of college over the older workers.

  • Probably not.  Corporate America wants 'em young, wide-eyed and trained in globalism.  The older you get, the wiser to the wicked ways of the world you become.  Plus, you are worth more $$$, which they don't want to pay.

The Madman Essay is very realistic. In my personnal life, I have had the chance of working in a very stimulating environment. Unfortunatly, I was lay off about 8 years ago and my job was given to someone who was less knowledgable then me. I have work in greenhouses and left because I could not stand our manager stupidity. Like the last picture of the article, I am now a house keeper and wonder, while my head is in the toilet bowl, if I will ever find a job for my level of experience.

  • It may be intuitive, rather than conscious, understanding.  There is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
