Thank you all. This disease he had with the pancreas, it so reminded me of a wasting away disease that the deer in our area had. :(
He died a natural death as he turned the corner over the weekend when there are no vet offices open.
I made sure his brother Midnight said goodbye. As I had found his body up at the barn, I had him out ready to wrap his body in a burlap feed bag. Before I did that, our barn cat Lucky came up to him sniffed the body, then sat next to him for about 10 minutes looking at him. It was touching.
I feel your loss, Kim. I had Maui put down when she was 15 years old and in chronic pain and nothing could be done. I think it's easier for them to pull the plug than forcing us to pull the plug, no doubt. But there are many adoptees needing good homes.

RIP 8/17/2014. You were only 7 years old. I am sorry that you could not heal from the pancreatitis you had for a year.
