  • Thanks, Stephen.  So, then, where do security companies get the bills?  My guess is a bank, maybe not the same bank whose ATM's they are loading the bills into.

  • Banks don't service their own ATMs. More than a few times I've watched a security company (i.e., Wells Fargo, etc) load the machines.

As for counterfeit bills in the machines? The machines can tell the difference between a real bill and a fake. That's to prevent people from depositing counterfeits into their accounts (i.e., Bank of America ATMs that accept deposits).

  • How else would they get inside the machines?

  • Certain bank employees not doing their job watching for conterfeits?  Or inside job?  Now, who gets arrested for this?
