Electric Bus Wireless Power Transfer

10958026300?profile=original

Using some Tesla type technology (principles of induction) these guys have developed a Wireless Power Transfer system to power an electric bus.

Whilst this seems like a great idea, I still have some concerns.

1) Although they claim no pollution, the electricity still needs to be generated (which is currently not totally clean) - but I guess better than diesal engine pollution, and

2) What effect does the high frequency magnetic field that is created to transfer the electric power have on the human body? The environment is already saturated with radio/micro/TV/etc/etc waves - will this just add to the mix resulting in another form of invisible pollution?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for progress and development, and maybe this is a step in the right direction.

  • That's exactly my concern Kim. On the surface the above story seems to be a good idea but if they require additional underground electrical cabling to service their wireless charge points then doesn't this just add to our (possibly already) overexposure to external electrical currents! Not to mention the additional exposure when the wireless re-charging is taking place.

  • Our electronic signatures that our bodies produce can be affected by outside sources such as those large power lines that run across our country (this is why holistic experts do not recommend living near them).

  • That is a very good concern. We do not exactly know in the long term what will be the effect of the human body. I would not mind having one of these bus.
