Hearing Weird Ringing Or Tones In Your Ears?

Q: I’m hearing weird tones in my ears.  What do they mean?

A: This is a complex subject that I am going to over-simplify to keep the answer short.  You are hearing 4th density energies. Generally, a sudden strong tone in your right ear is a positive, STO oriented being sending you information, love, or a warning.  A strong tone in the left ear is generally a negative, STS being trying to access your energy, read you, distract you, etc.

This is not 100% of the time, but it is a good general guideline.

Often, a set of “background tones” can be heard as well.  They will vary depending on the harmonics of the area where you live, and the energies you are conducting in meditation and daily life. You can put in ear plugs and meditate on these energetic background tones to get to know them better.

  • I have ringing in my ears too. The doctor told me he could not do any thing for me. Unfortunately, deafness  runs in my family.

  • Yes, anything with the body should be first checked medically to ensure it's nothing serious or that there is another explanation.  The human body is capable of doing some interesting things, especially if its neurological.

I have a background ringing in my ears... if all noise stops, then I can hear it.  Probably from too much loud music back in the '60s and '70s, LOL.  However, the noise that is a mystery to me is a sudden, audible tone, that sounds like Sudden Brief Tinnitus, lasting only a few seconds and decreasing in volume.

  • I am going to agree with Sonny on the point of not getting too mystical about ringing ears, and regarding this subject responsibly.

If you have constant ringing the odds are you have tinnitus, which is generally a sign of damage to your hearing, but could also be a sign of heart problems, high blood pressure and many other things. Tinnitus is a well documented, and well studied medical condition.

Sudden Brief Tinnitus is less well understood, and the article I quoted earlier pointed out that so far, medical researchers have no evidence it points to long term health problems in general. It lasts for only a few seconds and may only occur less than a dozen times over a year. For some, it never happens.

When I started working as an audio tech I became very aware that there are frequencies of sound just outside our ranges of hearing which are happening often as much or more than audible frequencies. I sometimes considered that these unregistered sounds could be triggering the ringing just like a hand clap makes piano wires vibrate audibly.

I mentioned using Sudden Brief Tinnitus as a kind of message system from the spirit world. That is not science. That is speculation, and I could well have been using my intuition, sub conscious ques, or both to take actions when the ringing started. Or it could have been spirit messages, or both. I keep an open mind.

So if you have constant ringing, take it from me who has it, you got a problem, and you may need to deal with it medically, though in my case I am told my hearing will fade over the years and there is no telling how badly.

Sudden Brief Tinnitus . . . . well that's still part of The Great Mystery.

  • Don't worry about me, Sonny.  I've had my ears checked.  Nothing wrong with them.

  • I have experience it before. Logically speaking it is a sign that you are not physically well, out of balance or under pressure, or, about to get sick relating to your ears and well-being or simply going through a period of environmental shift where your ears lags in adjusting. If it gets painfully uncomfortable it's best to seek medical attention. ear problems can be sign of serious illness to come with more pain and sufferings. I've known a case before. Please, please, It is best not to self-wish-make-believe that it is a sound from other dimensions and put your health at risk!

  • there is a wobbling tone that can only be herd when one is calm it also at the same time has a vibration thur out the whole body that if you stay Quiet/calm you can feel a sensation of floating

  • That's interesting.  I bet there is more to "handedness" than we know.

  • While I'm dumping a wall of text on this subject here is another quote from the medical article followed by the link. To me the medical data does not refute the spiritual claims in any way, which validates it as good science, at least to me.

The finding that SBUTTs occur more commonly on the right than the left favors the possibility that they are related to the somatosensory system because, on average, more than 90% of people are right-handed. The somatosensory system of the dominant side would be expected to be more forcefully activate than the non-dominant side

  • Yes, Jacks, that's true.  We have to keep seeking to find what works for each of us, individually.  I have noticed the "tones" being in one ear or the other.  Usually, it's the right ear.  I'd notice if it was in the left and wonder why it changed ears.

W&R, the tones (as distinguished from "ringing") start off at a certain level and do diminish in loudness until it fades away.  Sometimes the level is more elevated than normal, as if to say "pay attention to this one."

  • I was told long ago about the sudden strong tone in 1 ear by a friend well versed in his people's native lore. The explanation was similar but went something like this:

Sudden tone in the right ear is an ancestor sending an urgent message, could be a deceased loved one even.

Sudden tone in the left ear were family spirits, guardian angel types that are always assisting your family, passing along critical info, though less urgent than the right ear. I much prefer this explanation to the STS beings taking something from you, though perhaps it is worth considering.

His suggestion was to quiet down and listen to this brief message with your heart and mind to get the gist of it. Often I did this, with right ear messages successfully warning me of an encounter with a person I knew, later that day or even within minutes . . . a phone call, or some such occurrence. Essentially I was listening for whatever notion was popping into my head at that time. Perhaps 25% of the time it was unnervingly accurate at predicting an occurrence from the arrival of people to warning not to take a certain action, which I would later find out would have been a disastrous action. Right ear tones have literally warned me off a road well before people I didn't want to meet showed up. Sometimes the tone will last until you grasp it's meaning, but it will always fade within a few seconds either way. Left ear tones for me are rare, but seem more general and nebulous when they occur, hard to pin down any pattern to the message. Though they seem to guide more long term trends, like decisions on art or creative endeavors (for me that is). So that is my subjective experience with this phenomena. One that interests me very much.

I have experienced these sudden tones in one ear my entire life, decades lol. I also have classic tinnitus caused by everything from shooting guns to operating chainsaws and audio equipment without hearing protection. Very, very stupid of me. Don't do it. Tinnitus is not the same phenomena.

The sudden tone in medical literature is termed appropriately: Sudden Brief Tinnitus

here is a brief quote from the "professionals" regarding it:

This phenomenon has not been studied until recently and very little was known about it. Now a multicenter study from Israel, Canada and the US sheds light on what has been a little understood sensation.[1]

The researchers describe these episodes as a sudden perception of a tone in one ear that fades away within seconds and seems to have no definite trigger. It can sometimes be associated with a feeling of fullness, pressure, blocking or hearing loss of the same ear. Once it begins, it remains at a constant loudness for several seconds then wanes until it is no longer perceived. All the while, the quality of the tinnitus otherwise remains unchanged. The entire event typically lasts less than a minute with no permanent change in hearing. Such an event is termed Sudden, Brief, Unilateral, Tapering Tinnitus (SBUTT).
