Magentic North moved again

This morning I had a look at my compass. The needle is now pointing to 350 degree north. I just checked a few minutes ago and the compass is still pointing in the same direction. I am wondering if this is in part cause by the change of season.

  • I'm afraid so.

  • Yes it did. If the Earth has shifted that much, then whatever degree I read on the compass is inacurate. The only reference point I have, is the date the compass needle moved to the right by one degree. I can say this for sure because when I installed my compass in it actual location, I made sure to realign the compass needle to show magnetic North. When the needle moved, I assumed that the Magnetic North had move. Now the compass needle is back to its original position when I had set it initially.

    Wea are really toast.

  • See this video PaulK posted, it might shed some light:

  • I have set my compass to magnetic North. The 350 degrees is where the compass needle is pointing to.

  • I don't understand the significance of 350 degrees north.  It seems almost full circle?
