Monster Sun

A few minutes ago I saw the biggest sun I have ever seen. The massive sun was white and had very little glare, with a pair of cheap sunglasses, I was able to look directly at it.
Most days I would compare the sun to the size of a dime or a nickle...this thing was bigger than a silver dollar!

  • Paris, I have noticed this too, for a long time now, especially when I am driving. The sun is huge, and of a bright white...
  • Thanks Teresa, now I understand where the Fireball inthe sky came from. After reading the statement fromthe Agency, sounds a little hoaxy. I get the whole turn of the tv thing and I'm all for that, however. . . my feeling is that it's just someone yankin our chain. old term sorry. As far as the rainbows, if you look into the late afternoon sky, you will see rainbows in the clouds (if it's partly cloudy or some just passing late in the day). I've got my camera ready to show what we see here.
  • Teresa, Yes,there are rainbows in the clouds though. The first one I saw was circular in the clouds during the spring and I see them quite a bit. The "Agency" not sure what you're all referring to, but will look at it. There are just too many anomalies going on. I'll going to make the best attempt at getting some pictures from around here and will post and see what you think. The colors are really spectacular at times although the east coast today got saturated and was very overcast.
  • Good question Paris..I'm not sure, but I'm posting a link to a site I found regarding November Skies (it appears to be mostly for viewing from the Southern Hemisphere), so may not be helpful.

  • I remembered something else about this morning. The south western horizon was bright pink. Shouldn't the eastern sky, where the sun was rising have been pink? What would cause the west to be pink in the morning?
  • I took this picture around 6:30PM (dusk) in San Diego, I've notice how red our evening sky has been.

  • Thanks, Paris. There are so many visible changes and people aren't paying attention. Just look up, the cloud structures are changing for this area, really beautiful and the colors, WOW!
  • Joan, I'm no scientist, so I'm just guessing here, but it could be a distortion caused by dust in the upper atmosphere. Maybe PX's dust covering precedes it. It could also be caused by the earth wobble. Maybe as the planet wobbles into a position it isn't normally in causes the sun's light to be bent in a way that changes the size of the sun.
The ancient Egyptians spoke of the sun appearing huge because of the presence of the Destroyer.
  • Why is this happening though, what's the cause - other than saying Oh, it's PX. What about PX and what the earth is experiencing is causing this? I've also watched over the past few months since the summer watching the sun set far north east and then set north west. Then it started moving back and now is appearing to set closer to south east and set south west. I read elsewhere here that the earth is moving from its orbit either higher or lower than the normal ecliptic orbit. I don't understand the science piece but it makes sense if this is true.
  • A white sun at sunset? That is very strange.
