  • My secret weapon is a big berkey hopefully with spare elements, and small  bottle of bleach to kill germs. you can survive weeks and not eat, but die in a few days with no water. make sure where you go has water security, a river, stream or clean pond.

  • Will post the contents of my bob, car kit and pocket kits when I get home....

  • This was the best article I have come across for some time ... glad you like it :)

  • I would also shield the electronic devices for protection against a CME. The devices should not come in contact with the shield, and a good shield is an emergency blanket. I picked up 50 for for under a dollar a piece, and they can also keep you warm and last longer than alluminum foil hats :-)  A few packs of eveready batteries too. They have a long shelf life and they too should be shielded when not in use. I don't have a gun so I guess I'll have to improvise!

  • this is very interesting, but it all depends if you are alone ir with the company of others. I personally will go through this exercise later on, this year, but my own preps are in two stages. one, what I can fit in my car, , two, what i can take in a large ruckack. I would take issue  with some of the items above, no doubt, to purify water, why simply have a big berkey, some spare elements, or even two berkeys, and to purify the water, two options, pure bleach, no chemicals in it, or iodine solution, both which can be easily bought. as fir food, why not flax seeds, some means of grinding it, say a pestle and mortar, and a few bags if flour, some oil, salt, then we have cans of baked beans, though these wont fit in a rucksack. and why not a few bags of oatmeal, which can be eaten uncooked, and lets say some bags of raisons  and died fruit. these alone will last a couple of weeks, it all depends on what you aim to do.

  • I absolutely love this post thank you.
