  • LOL, Teresa you crack me up! :P
  • Yugo...Serbo-Croatian reanimation of a Fiat...mercifully, Yugo's recycled themselves.
  • I was in Vegas in '91 or '92 when an earthquake hit San Bernardino County. Vegas rocked and rolled and it wasn't even a really big quake.
  • Advertise a Mercedes and give them a Chevy.

  • All they did is buy an old military facility and clean it up.
  • Pre-Y2K, a "Christian" community was formed in this area, as a safe harbor to weather y2k. It was an unfortunate mix of almost entirely STS people. It fell apart quickly and those that stayed on were under the thumb of the church that had attracted them all. It was quite a scene. The cannibalization and finger-pointing was unbelievable. One many of them split and landed in our church. Then the email wars started. Our pastor started calling e-mail "evil-mail" it was so bad. There isn't much left of that church or that community. So a lesson learned. Going into a community where everyone is coming together for the first time and no one knows the other isn't a good idea. Community takes a long time to build and the STS take advantage of situations like this.
  • Sounds like a scam to me.
  • Alex, this is a pretty interesting site that you stumbled onto here. I think you're asking if we think this is STS, or STO? I don't think anyone can tell from the site itself. It seems to me that the people here are trying to be logical, practical, fair-minded and balanced. But, it is true, the price tag is out of the reach of most of the people I know.

I do think that this is a good site to quickly gather a summary of some good information. Ultimately, the quality of a community is determined by the quality of the character of the people that make up the community, as well as, the quality of the relationships within the community. There are no real shortcuts to real community, it takes time, shared experiences, working together to make community really work. So, it is always good to really get to know the people well, and make sure you have shared values.

One thing that I do think Terra Vivos may be accidentally setting themselves up for is that they are selling an idealistic idea of how we can live through these changes and this may make it more difficult for the people who buy into that idea to adjust to reality, if it doesn't match this ideal image.

Just my thought, e, have a great weekend
