The world's oldest and most complete Hebrew Bible has sold for $38.1 million - one of the highest prices ever for a book or document sold at auction.

The winning bid for the Codex Sassoon was made via a donation by Alfred H. Moses, a former US ambassador and president of the American Jewish Committee, who is giving it to the ANU Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, Israel.

  • The Golden rule applies to all threads on this site.  Freedom of speech, yes.  Bashing of others beliefs, that's a no no.  This was Cheryl's Golden Rule and we will stick with it.  Unless Dianna makes changes she will let us know.

Rest easy. That's not going to happen. .. however...

    • Hi!  How about we don't criticize other's beliefs or opinions. You do you, and we Bible thumpers will do us. Okay?

      • This is part of the Golden Rule here at Earth changers which Cheryl established when she created this site.  The Golden Rule states NO bashing of others beliefs or opinions.  Cheryl did give warnings and if the warnings were not heeded, then she would suspend the member.

  • Now, wouldn't that be a read!!  Good find, Martin.

  • Who bought it?

    • Alfred H. Moses, a former US ambassador and president of the American Jewish Committee, who is giving it to the ANU Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, Israel.
