Raising vibrations to help humanity

Why Talking IS Learning
I have to be real honest with you guys. I was very influenced by Edgar
Cayce, his readings, and his Search for God material. I was exposed to
his brand of thinking while I was still in elementary school. And EC was
a very practical guy. He founded the ARE, Association for Research and
Enlightenment, with a heavy emphasis on practical spirituality, healing,
and research. One of his many guiding principles that most shaped my
own thinking is his counsel to bring everything into practical
application.

He would often say, "Wisdom is knowledge applied." The whole point in learning anything was to become changed by your learning, and to live it out on a day by day, moment by moment basis. EC was big into personal response-ability. In the end, we choose our responses, it is about the
only place in our lives where we have any real control. At least, for now....

There are tons of upsides to this emphasis on practical application, and personal responsibility. And there are likewise, some downsides. One of the downsides that I have noticed is that when we become influenced by this mindset in an imbalanced way, we become impatient, or intolerant,
of the larger learning process that human beings go through, while we are learning to put principles into action. In short, we think everyone learns the way we do. And this is not true.

We each have our own unique learning style. And to make this even more muddier, we have different learning styles at the various and different learning stages we may go through. I tend to over gather information before I move into the action phase. Other people are completely
impatient with the information gathering stage, skip it entirely, and jump straight into action, learning by trial and by jumping into the fire, so to speak. I use a lot of personal feedback processes in my
learning. Other people learn by teaching, even if they do not know what they are teaching, they are learn by teaching, it is their particular learning style.

I'm very kinesthetic, and often timid. When it comes time to do the actions I will want to be left alone, so I can observe myself, what I am doing, how it all feels, where I get stuck, how I can improve, and so on. Visuals are helpful, but I cannot anchor the learning until I've done it.

It's important to understand our selves and our differences in how we learn, and to be patient with our differences.

One of the universal ways that all humans learn to by engaging the self-expression and feedback loops circuits in our brains. The part of our brain that learns is the part of the brain that expresses. This is why we talk so much about what we are learning. It is because talking is
learning, we are wired this way
. Regardless of where we are at in our stage of learning, preparing, or maturing in our expressions, it is through self-expression, by either talking, writing, journaling, creating, and doing that we will anchor our learning. These are all very physical processes. And the only way we can anchor our soul growth is through the physical expression of it.

For those of you who would like some more very simple information on how we learn, and the expression circuit/feedback loop please check out The Einstein Factor. If you go to Amazon, search inside the book, and search the word "expression" then you will find on pages 62-65 a super simple, effective description of what I am talking about. "

So, here's to talking with you, in the days to come.

Teresa I had to remove my daughter from the school system for this very same reason. As with yours she flourished and went on to accomplish what the teachers said she would be incapable of . It is not the children who are flawed it is the system and how these unique children are viewed and approached that is flawed.

I hate tests. I think few are an indicator of one's intelligence. Especially entrance tests for children. In a child if you want the results you first have to spark the interest. Some chidren/people are feelers and some are thinkers. Some have to have their physical senses stimulated to get their brain involved.
When teaching in school it was my experience that the most intelligent children were sometimes the ones who were the class clown. George Carlin is an example of such a child. I've seen children held back a grade because they were bored not stupid.
We want to mass produce students like commodities and in doing so we are missing the brightest lights. Our whole education system needs to be addressed. Not to mention the bright ones question the validity of the carriculum. They are not appreciated.
My daughter home schooled in high school. She of course had to take all the conformed tests. She passed with presidential honors and acedemic awards. I'm sorry to say that she could not have thrived in the enviroment of our high schools today.
And that almighty check for warm bodies in those seats , whether they learn or not !!

I agree the whole system is a sham. It is very sad what it has become. A few good parents and teachers are fighting their efforts to dumb down our children. They only care about numbers and statistics.

I guess I would fall into the school of learning by teaching aka talking my way there :) Thanks for the insightful words and thoughts, they are all appreciated and never feel bad about accumalating too much information before taking action. Its just you picking up the slack for those of us who don't research enough :)

Teach away nena.
As to education, another thing that is so stupid, is the Sept. 1st birthday deadline. My daughter was held back a grade because of this deadline (her b-day is november) and she is super bored at school ( and they have her in the advanced groups). It should not depend on a date, but should depend on the individual child. Hopefully in a few years my husband will agree to allow her to be home schooled (if px has not arrived, yet). BTW she does not go to a public school, she goes to private.
Don't know where to post this. Q: As I am saving seeds from garden vegetables this summer, after they are dried, can I just put them in plastic bags to keep, or a little jar... what is the best way to store seeds is what I am asking? Thank you. One whose grandmother was a farmer....
I use tissue paper or paper towel to wrap them with to protect against any moisture. Then place it in a small zip lock bag and in a cool dark place.

Diane, if you have little jars, this is probably the best, store them is cool, dry and dark place, you may try one of those absorber packets that you get in vitamin containers or something similar, to help keep any humidity down.
I use white envelopes, stored alphabetically by type, in plastic shoe boxes with zeolyte gravel sprinkled in the bottom, then I keep this in a chest, or the dryest part of my root cellar. Zeolyte is a soil amendment, it hold water. You can buy lots of it very inexpensively at garden supply stores, and use it instead of the absorber paks. Good, question, I hope this helps, let me know....e

PS on the seed storage, it's the big amounts of seeds I put in the small glass jars, watermelon, cantalope, squash, these are going into even pint sized jars. Watermelon seed can be made into tea, it is used for some kidney problems, and Edgar Cayce recommended it for psorasis skin type problems. I will have to look closer at my notes to give you more specific inFo on this, which is on my ever growing "honey do" list
