Extreme cold sends temperatures plummeting to 73 below zero in Siberia

Temps are expected to dip below -50°F in the coming days, as classes have been canceled across Siberia. Frigid temps are expected to last until the end of January for portions of Russia.

The city(Yakutsk) is currently in the midst of an abnormally long period of harsh subzero cold that is considered unusual even for Siberia's standards.
