"Food Safety Modernization Act , S. 510

This is not  a political  forum , but  I thought  this letter that  I  received  has a lot of  relevance to what is being discussed here.  The influence and the plans  of the PTB.  With all the  bills being  passed and the  Codex Alimentarius  that  went into effect 12/31/09.  Which has  not yet  been  enforced here in the  US.  However, is  mandated by the UN.

My  daughter used to  drink a lot of diet  sodas (aspartame  as the  main sweetening  ingredient) and  she had a large  majority of these  symptoms listed on  one of the  sites  below.

She  still has  some  lasting  effects of blurred  vision , migraines, memory loss and  fatigue.  Even  after 10 years.  Now they  want to  put it in over  950 different  foods  calling it  a food  additive.

Letter  from the Campaign For Liberty

A critical cloture vote is scheduled for this Wednesday, November 17, on S. 510, the so-called "Food Safety Modernization
Act
," which will open the floodgates for tyrannical federal bureaucrats to crush local producers of healthy food.

The statists in the Senate are banking on us not paying attention after the elections in order to ram another disgusting bill down our throats.

Don't fall for their rhetoric about a few provisions that supposedly address concerns of small-scale farmers; the FDA still has all the power it needs to shut down family farms on a whim.

In other words, it will be up to bureaucrats to decide whether or not local food production is decimated by federal regulations or shut down if the FDA has "reason
to believe" the food on the premises is contaminated.

While family farms face greater scrutiny and increased costs, the government’s Big Agriculture allies will have no problem adjusting to the new rules.

In these tough economic times, S. 510 will drive
up the costs of food production by adding more layers of government
interference.  Like Cap and Tax, which will guarantee higher energy
bills, S.
510 will ensure you pay more to meet an essential need.

We know Congress won’t be the one tightening its belt: Section 401 of S. 510
authorizes nearly $1 billion to grow the government’s reach and calls
for over 17,000 new bureaucrats to be hired through fiscal year 2014
(just
for starters).

The bill also grants blanket authority for federal agencies to impose international guidelines and standards on
domestic
food producers - giving agencies authority to harmonize all American
food production and processes in line with the globalist Codex.

Well-intentioned amendments to this rotten bill are not enough to make it anything other than unconstitutional.

It should be noted that Senators Tom Harkin (D-IA), Mike Enzi (R-WY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Judd Gregg (R-NH), Chris Dodd (D-CT), and Richard Burr (R-NC) coordinated to reach a
"bipartisan" agreement earlier in the year to forge ahead with the otherwise stalled bill.

  • Yes this does thanks desertrosetx. I have been using xylitol basically because it's low glycemic, and it supposedly fights tooth decay (I think). I don't use huge amounts of it every day, just about a teaspoon full. I hope it's not harmful.

Thanks for bringing this to the forefront Desertrosetx. I have a family member who has developed diebetes. It's simply horrible for him to find dietetic foods that don't contain aspartame. This is poison.
I like your daughter 10 years ago used it for about quite a while. I remember the headaches. There is evidence that it damages the CNS. I suffer from fybromyalgia. I can't help but think that aspartame may have been one of the causes.
It's awful that they hide it in so many foods. Advertising that it doesn't cause tooth decay so parents buy drinks for their kids with this.
It seems we have no power. All we can do is read labels very carefully.

Teresa , you might want to look into the Stevia plant. It is a natural source of sugar. The leaves are super sweet. They can be dried and powdered (this is what I do ). It is not as pretty as the granular sugar, but it is an extremely healthy alternative. Or they can be purchased in as close to it's natural form from a natural food store.

While there are not many studies available on the dangers of Xylitol.

Xylitol is produced by hydrogenation of xylose, which converts the sugar (an aldehyde) into a primary alcohol.

Hydrogenation, to treat with hydrogen, also a form of chemical reduction, is a chemical reaction between molecular hydrogen (H2) and another compound or element, usually in the presence of a catalyst. The process is commonly employed to reduce or saturate organic compounds. Hydrogenation typically constitutes the addition of pairs of hydrogen atoms to a molecule, generally an alkene. Catalysts are required for the reaction to be usable; non-catalytic hydrogenation takes place only at very high temperatures. Hydrogen adds to double and triple bonds in hydrocarbons.[1]

Hydrogenated fats such as hydrogenated vegetable oils to make margarine . Have already been found to release a formaldehyde type substance into the body. Just as Splenda does when the process of digestion takes place and these chemicals are unleased.

Today, using hardwood or maize sources, the largest manufacturer globally is the Danish company Danisco, with several other suppliers from China.[7] Xylitol is produced by hydrogenation of xylose, which converts the sugar (an aldehyde) into a primary alcohol.

An aldehyde (pronounced /ˈældɨhaɪd/) is an organic compound containing a formyl group. This functional group, with the structure R-CHO, consists of a carbonyl centre bonded to hydrogen and an R group. [1] The group without R is called the aldehyde group or formyl group. Aldehydes differ from ketones in that the carbonyl is placed at the end of a carbon skeleton rather than between two carbon atoms. Aldehydes are common in organic chemistry. Many fragrances are aldehydes.

The word aldehyde was coined by Justus von Liebig as a contraction of the Latin alcohol dehydrogenatus (dehydrogenated alcohol).[5] In the past, aldehydes were sometimes named after the corresponding alcohols, for example, vinous aldehyde for acetaldehyde. (Vinous is from Latin vinum = wine (the traditional source of ethanol), cognate with vinyl.)

The term formyl group is derived from the Latin and/or Italian word formica = ant. This word can be recognized in the simplest aldehyde, formaldehyde (methanal), and in the simplest carboxylic acid, formic acid (methanoic acid, an acid, but also an aldehyde).

Any substance which must be manipulated to this extent in a laboratory can never and should never be viewed as a natural substitute for any type of food. The simplest reason is that one must take into account where those chemical components used to fuse this substance into a viable product will go. What does the body do with the chemicals? How is it eliminated from the body? What changes on a cellular level could it be responsible for in the log run.

While it is obvious that diabetes is becoming a growing and daunting problem today. Natural is still the best way to go to avoid all the possible after effects of toxicity and unknown chemicals that are being used to manufacture our food.

Even Stevia which is a naturally occurring herbal plant , when manufactured to be pleasing to the eye of the consumer is put through a chemical process. Which is why I choose the natural plant and dry and pulverize it myself.

    I hope this helps Kim!

  • Kim, It says it's a natural sweetner and good for you,but deadly for pets. It said your body has some of this in it. We could all grow our own sugar cane after the pole shift.

  • It has been brought to my attention that aspartame ill no be marketed and listed on labels as a natural sweetener. They are renaming it "Amino Sweet". They are trying to get around the label watchers.

Not to mention the "Frankenfish" that naturalists have labeled the new GMO Salmon that they will be putting on the market. The FDA has approved their request to keep the genetically modified aspect from the labels . They say that it will only serve to confuse consumers!

All corn, soybean and canola crops commercially grown no in the US are genetically modified. This is what is being fed to the livestock we purchase in the stores and in the dairy products we buy. Not to mention the myriad of antibiotics, growth hormones and other chemicals they are injecting into these animals to make them grow faster and produce more.

The whole foods and organic food companies that have been known and relied upon for years are also being bought out by larger corporations. Therefore , making it impossible to be sure that their foods continue to be organic and indeed safe.

The situation is getting very scary. We can no longer rely on labels to tell us what we are eating. If we continue on this course and they do achieve what they are programming they may even try to regulate what e can grow in our on backyards. What ill we do then?
