Got a new RFID chipped credit card??

According to the experts these chips can be hacked into and your information stolen by identity thiefs.  Isn't this just lovely? (dingbats!!) Of course these also can be used by tptb to track people.  Any how, a company makes RFID blocking wallets, passport cases, and badge holder cases.

Any how, I heard simply wrapping one's card in tin foil is enough to prevent hacking and tracking.

Did anyone determine what is the maximum distance to be able to receive information from these chips? I did see Faraday wallets for sale.
