Hurricane Fiona hits Canada after brushing Bermuda

Hurricane Fiona made landfall in eastern Canada's Nova Scotia today, the US National Hurricane Center said, with maximum winds of 144kms (90 miles) per hour and heavy rainfall.

The NHC said the storm would affect many parts of eastern Canada as a "powerful hurricane-force cyclone".
