A thought just came to me , John.
when they talk of the sun exploding at some time with CME's as the brown dwarf approaches, is it not possible one reason for the suns activity may in fact be the large entourage of comets that are carried in the gravity field of the brown dwarf? apart from the planet x itself setting if a mass discharge of the solar capacitor, might it not also be a cometary swarm that does this at the same time? just a thought.
