Met Éireann has said severe frost, icy conditions and freezing fog will lead to hazardous travelling conditions this morning.
A Status Orange freezing fog warning is in place for most of Ireland.
The forecaster said temperatures last night were between -1 and -5C in most places, with Athenry recording -7.2C.
