Thousands of homes were left without power after strong winds and heavy rain hit Wales.

Aberdaron weather station in Gwynedd recorded wind gusts of 84 mph (135 km/h) on Thursday morning.

Western Power Distribution said about 3,000 of its customers had been left without power on Thursday morning, but most were restored by the afternoon.

A flood warning had been issued for the River Rhyd Hir in Pwllheli, Gwynedd, but this was later downgraded.
