Coupled with hypnotic indoctrination, other mind control tactics, long hours, exhaustion, poor nutrition, smoke-filled centers, intimidation and so on, all in the name of "religion," it is one witches brew people are bombed with.
And, yes, Dee. It is all for the benefit of top management. The slaves at the bottom are fodder to feed them. 100-hour work weeks for $20, free courses you have to pay back if you leave, with no offset for hours worked. I saw the Co$ article yesterday. (BTW, Miscavige rhymes with Miscabbage). Same song, new singer. It's "the Sea Org." Their motto, "We come back." They sign billion-year contracts.
Anyway, Hubbard's perspective on kids is that they are immortal beings in young bodies. The policies are rough on kids in the Sea Org. I personally witnessed babies in diapers crawling around at their American St. Hill Organization near broken glass. The Sea Org person who was acting as the "nanny" sat, stoned out of her mind from lack of sleep. I know of one instance where a $cientologist sexually abused his young daughter. It was covered up to keep from $cientology being involved in yet another scandal. Female Sea Org members are "encouraged" to have abortions. This is long-standing practice.
