  • Our temps are the highest they have been since Oct. low 40's middle 20's in a few days it may go to 50's. Two very cold winters in a row.

  • Yeah, the weather is playing havoc.  The cold weather is back, high today 40's and lows 20's.  The fruit trees started budding, so might be another bad year for peaches, apples, and pears around here.

  • another... 50 in Europe died

Severe cold wave in Bangladesh kills 27, two more waves expected
  • I remember your tetanus shot ordeal and diabetes showed up next. Here is a serious food problem. Extreme cold results in severe agricultural damage across Europe, f...

  • Yeah, and I'm one of them.  If I have to go raw foods, then that's what I have to do, but not looking forward to it.

  • We got dog food for survival purposes and it is probably rancid because they spray animal fat on dry dog food to make the dogs eat that crap, their are no regulations on pet food at all. I don't think human food is much better with all the chemicals that are banned in other countries. I try to stay away from sugar  and they have so many names for it you can barely get away from it. I just don't want type 11 diabetes if I can avoid it, so many people I know have it and they are sickly.

  • Yeah, I use riced cauliflower as a rice substitute.  It works well in Spanish Rice, in soups. The cauliflower florets, I blend with non-dairy milk, salt, pepper, butter, and soy bac'un bits (organic by Frontier, available at Vitacost.com) to make whipped potatoes.  The bac'un bits masks the cauli taste and the taste/texture is very similar to real whipped potatoes.

I just learned today in one of Dr. Gundry's videos that pine nuts make a good substitute for beans.  He made a chili using pine nuts, where he couldn't tell the difference.  They are fairly expensive at Walmart in a small bag, but I remember getting larger bags at Sam's Club, so will check there.

Glad you don't feed your dog crap food.  Pets deserve better.

  • Yep riced cauliflower we purchased at Walmart because we couldn't find  anywhere else, we mix it in our dogs food which we make for her. Especially good things going missing is alarming.

  • You're right, Byron.  Organic strawberry jam isn't the only thing.  Where Walmart never used to run out of certain items, it's happening more and more frequently.  Frozen cauliflower became scarce for a while now.  I'm on such a limited diet, seeing things I use disappear is concerning.

  • I have been watching the climate destroy crops on almost every continent for two years. The world is connected with food but that chain seems to be unraveling now. We have been warned that this was coming for a long time and the history of solar minimums proves it happened before just like it is now.
