    It looks similar to Hellion-1957, that came through 2009.  It may well be shielding.  Current intel is that it is being slowed down to buy a few more months time.

    If it is what it appears to be, it's been wrapped in shielding to mitigate the havoc it will cause on Earth (and other planets.)
