  • I check in with Mike  Morales every couple days and he has been harping on the the amount he sees in KC. Once it rains no telling how much is on the other side of the clouds.  It has been raining here ever since the storm hit the west coast a couple weeks ago, just like they said it would. Whenever I see any blue sky it gets trailed in quickly after.

They usually spray before it rains, didn't rain until Monday morning. The trails are of the usual type that I have seen.
  • Right.  I go for a 2-3 days' worth of food because of using a lot of fresh vegetables and pay upwards of $40.  Now, times that by 10, to get a month's worth of food.  And, that's just food.  Add on non-food like TP, PT, and other household things, plus cat food and litter.  In 2008, when Obama took office, canned tuna (which I no longer use) used to be 50 cents a can.  A four-pack at Walmart is now 75 cents a can.  That's a 150% increase, at the end of Obama's reign of economic terror.  A pound of butter was $1.98 in 2008.  Today, it's $2.98, a 150% increase.  Both these staple items have been higher in the past.  I remember seeing tuna in the 80+cents per can range and butter in the $3.00+ range, but have come down somewhat.  Fast food used to have 2 for $2.00 breakfast sandwiches.  Now, the sandwiches are 2 for $3.50+, a 175% increase.  I say "+" because the sandwiches are smaller than they were, thus the inflation is actually higher than 175%.  And, Social Security gave no raise at all last year and this year a joke of a 3/10 of 1 percent increase.

When people go to the grocery store they usually buy the same items if they go only weekly or twice a month. What is being noticed is that the once full shopping cart , is now the same as a 1/2 or 2/3  cart in price. This has been showing up when we shop and the report I read about this happening was about 2 years ago. You buy less because so many things have gone up in price and still pay the same price for less. I have not believed in government statistics for years.
