  • I don't know for sure if it is Asian specific or not, but gov'ts seem to be acting like it isn't.  It might just cause regular-old flu symptoms in non-Asians.  But, any flu is a danger to the elderly.  Other things I've seen mentioned is that if it is a bio weapon, our bodies might not develop antibodies to it and we could catch it more than once.  Avoidance is really the only solution and since that might not be possible, then boosting your immune system up as much as possible is the next best thing.  The 1918 flu epidemic had a 2% mortality rate.  I've read Wu-flu has anywhere from a 5% to 15% mortality rate.  Just remember, it has an 87% infection rate, meaning 87 out of 100 people who contact it will become infected.  Then of those 87 people up to 15% will die from it.  That would mean that 13 people out of 87 people would die from it.  So, out of 100 people, up to 13 people would die.

It has never been fun being an old person but now it is a serious problem, I am still wondering if it is Asian specific.
