Coronavirus stimulus checks could be swiped by debt collectors, officials warn

Debt collectors, then, are frustrating the purpose of Congress in releasing this money.  You would think they would have to be told.  Congress needs to issue a statement that they are not to do this.

    Or her bank is playing the sweeps, making money on her money while they deprive her of it.

    My girlfriend's bank's answering service said that in the case of SSI checks with automatic deposits, you will receive your stimulus on your normally scheduled day! ......crap!  That's the first of the month for her..... That's NOT "Jive-ing" with what Trump's Treasury/IRS guy said on the Natl. Press Conference the other night.....     The treasury said if you don't file taxes you will get your check the week of the 20th direct deposited.

    Most of the direct deposits are supposed to be COMPLETED by tomorrow, so they better hurry up.  I guess they could put a clause in an order making the collectors RETURN any seized monies....... uh, like that's going to happen..... not in a pig's eye....

    It was said it was an oversight.  True, it was a rush job so that is reasonable.  But what isn't reasonable is if they don't do anything about it.  Now.

    I'm quite sure the money seized by the debt collectors will help stimulate our economy......NOT.....I see yachts being refurbished, new Porches being bought, etc.  Yep, a definite stimulus, alright....
