No real winter here in Idaho two 1 ft snows and temps are staying above freezing most of the time. I heat the house with wood and have used a cord and a quarter when I should of used around 4 by now. I am not complaining as there is still a chance things could turn out quite diffirent like europe did.
We have had no winter in thus country so far save for a few weeks of almost cold temperates, just above or below freezing. However winter has taken on a Charles dickens like proportion in the rest jf continental Europe. we have been lucky this year, even last year was warm except for few short weeks when we had a real winter but even thta was acceptable, I loved every minute of it. great fun.
I have two theories as to what is happening. one, variability of the jet stream, and wind pattern, two, volcanic underwater sea vents warming the oceans around the UK. I am told some parts of my country have had more of a winter but I am so out of touch having given my television away, and have little knowledge about what s happening elsewhere. but North Wales has been very clement, so far and n spring has truly come. next year it could be worse, and we may see the kind of winter Europe has, it is foolish to be complacent.
