What I think is happening is that as Nibiru gets closer, it causes the Alantic Rift to open, hence lava comes up and heats the Oceans.

That nasty weather in North Carolina was totally out of season.

But considering the crap the people of North Carolina pulled on the Duke LaCross lads, I guess they had it coming.
