I've never looked at him as a savior; however, the other choice would have definitely been a disaster. The longer this drags out, the more likely his base is going to lose faith. It was a definite political rock and a hard place. If he didn't get the jab out, he would have been guilty of killing people. He gets the jab produced, Biden runs with it, and Trump's blamed for killing people. I suspect he didn't know either way and letting people choose was the middle of the road.
