The majority of you are Americans and you take great pride in the thanksgiving holiday so I wish you well and hope it went fine for you. now we are all looking forward I expect to Christmas, and our thoughts must go out to the many who are now without homes, who are laden with burdens of debt, and pray none I talk to here are under such restraints. my own thoughts extend to desertrose whom Cheryl has launched and appeal , which is a wonderful act of compassion . it is always sad to see someone fall by the wayside, and when life sometimes turns against them in some way, health wise or financially or both. It causes distress for all of us to see this, sadly resources are limited these days as the world seems to get darker and darker by the hour. Yet even in its greatest darkness there is a brilliant light just over the horizon,we must be patient though.
For myself i never lose hope but do get angry at times, we all do I'm sure. anger is not the solution, only we can solve the dilemma that faces the world right now , in our daily lives.
so hoping all is well with everyone and we all find our own personal Light,
Nick

that is good, my own way is to look outward, see the love and happiness inherent in others. I shop a great deal I like shopping though prices in the UK are going crazy. one is never alone but if you start thinking you are alone the danger is you might end up believing it. we tend to see too much that is dark and forget all about the the Light, sometimes. .....
That is a good way to see thing. What save me from the darkness is that while it is cold and gloomy outside, I keep it warm and loving inside for my family to enjoy.
To Rosemary,
it is good knowing you have this to look forward to. for me who am all alone, save for the internet, my great delight is to see the dawning of the light once again in about four weeks when the days get longer. there seems no end to the darkness of the days but summer is never that far away.
Quite right Nicholas. Today is my son birthday and I will see him at Christmas.
to Kim,
I hope to make some suggestions on a blog post of the foods we can stock up on, that will be cheep to buy but will sustain us. so long as you can live without meat, though i have of late allowed myself fish
thats all that matters then lets us hope Christmas is just as good
Thanks Nick thanks for the well wishes. Even though our financial problems are extremely deep right now which causes us to no longer be able to continue to stock up on food, etc. we did have a nice thanksgiving. :)
