Latest Innovations to Clay-Pot Heaters

Very cool.  He adds extra nuts and screws since metal conducts heat.  He adds a clay saucer to the top to help reflect heat.  He seals the plate with furnace cement so it can withstand the heat. 

Since I have cats, I decided to place this heater in a toaster oven built for breadmaking, which can withstand heats up to 500*.  You could also put it in your regular oven in a power outage, on a cookie sheet.

  • Something I realized watching these videos is that tea lights have a short life span.  If you want one of these things to run all night, an oil lamp might be a better idea instead of tea lights.

    If you want to rig a fan to spread the heat, runs off battery or solar panel.
