I have a cardinal in my garage right now taking refuge from this cold weather. One more day of this crap...
Next week it's predicted we will see the low 50s for a couple of days.

We have a balmier 14* that feels like 7*.
It is a balmy 13 degrees here atm. They are calling for a high of 14 degrees...
It is minus 10 here with the wind chills. I will be going out shortly to tend to the animals. AS to my hens, the one coop I will not be letting out today as they have no wind break...
By thursday the temps will be near 50. I can't wait only another day or two of this crap. Sunday in the 20's, monday a high of 32 and upwards from there. Thank God.
It looks like the worst is going to miss us. Yesterday, the -20 to -25 was changed to +5 to -10. Tonight, it is showing 0 to -14.
It better improve. My poor farm animals.

You betcha, Byron. I'm going to get extra propane tomorrow, as well as more lamp oil. I don't expect the electricity to go out, but you never know. And, who knows if the furnace can keep up with that kind of cold. We can run the dryer and the stove to help it, but probably cheaper to use the propane heater and lamps in one room. Anyway, I have a plan.
