This has been coming for a long time and it did not happen because of the current man made drought. In 1969 I took a week long trip on Lake Mead and it was like an ocean. In 2002 I was invited to go on a house boat trip and the shore line was all mud from the declining water level and in 2005 I went across the Hoover dam and could hardly see the water. I lived in Laughlin NV down stream 160 miles on the Colorado River 5 years ago and the water marks on the side of the river were much lower than I had seen from 1990, Being a fisherman, the places I had fished were now dry and did not get water from the dam releases. Now the Colorado river does not even get to the ocean as it always has. Almost all of the desert communities below Hoover get their water rights from the Colorado River and the farm land below it. If Lake Mead goes so does every one below it and that is one of the most productive growing areas in this country. Mexico is also doomed they will be decimated. If someone tries to blame the current drought on Lake Mead you know it is a big fat lie. We have an agree with Mexico to give them a quota of water and that will happen until the lake runs dry. For the last 20 years Los Vegas was the fastest growing cities in America and now it looks like los Angles when I was there in 1990 it was so small I could drive through it in 30 minutes and the last time was an hour and a half because Los Vegas has expanded so much. It appears that it is time to get the hell out or die of thirst.
