  • All good info Thanks

  • Although I am an internet "tragic" and use my computer way too much - I love the convenience of WiFi - in fact I'm using it now in a caravan park in the middle of nowhere about 400kms south of Darwin - but I hate the negative impact it has on my health. That is why I "earth" as much as possible - that is, I walk or sit with bare feet in contact with the soil (or grass or rock) to counter the buildup of positive ions (not good ions) in my body!
Well worth giving it a go!
  • Thanks for the tip, W&R!

  • I was forced to go wi-fi, because the ethernet connection in our living room was never connected like it was supposed to be, and because my art room/loft above the garage which was wired ethernet connection where I had my desktop was taken away from me and turned into an apartment...............  :(  So thus I had to install a wireless at the modem in the basement.

  • I just wanted to respond to this article, not because of the health issues related to wi-fi, but the sheer inconvenience and inefficiency of those systems for use at home.  Wi-fi cuts out at random, killing ping of intensive online activities like gaming, or communications. Online work at home employers will not hire you for call center work if you are on wi-fi. Wired connections push through much higher rates of data than wi-fi.

When I moved I invested in a bunch of wall adapters that turned my house wiring into a highspeed ethernet network. Each adapter cost me around 50 to 60 bucks and communicated with the wall adapter attached to the modem, which is also a router. 2 computers and an xbox  are all connected this way, and soon a printer too. The only hitch would be if you live in an old house with old wiring which may not have the proper configuration to carry the data.

I'm not trying to push this specific product, but just indicate the type of product I use for my house wiring network. No wi-fi here, only fat pipe wired networking pushing more data than our computers are capable of processing. Far less RF radiation than any kind of broadcast unit.  In plain speak, it works better, and is much safer, and probably cheaper too.

Final word. I simply plugged each unit in and in less than 5 minutes had my computers and xbox connected and running. Easy goes a long ways. This is a good way to break the wi-fi habit
