Mars was used as a way station for the shipping of gold off of planet earth, by the Annunaki. They were mining gold in South Africa. They use it to moderate their planet's atmosphere, much like we are chemtrailing our atmosphere. Their planet Nibiru, has a mass about 8 times that of the Earth. Actually, a Martian City named Cydonia was found back in the nineties by a guy called Richard Hoagland. He found the famous face on Mars, a FIVE sided pyramid and much more.
