Interesting article. Did you ever heard about "Space Elevators". My ex-boss is working on this project. He told me that it is viable. just put the payload on a platform, and the payload will be rising all the way outside earth gravity. But than again, that is not a good explanation. I also worry that the scenario where the government will make believe that Earth is under attack by a group of alien. just to enslave us some more.
