I would be ashamed if I was this captain. What I don't understand is, is that in tis "high-tech" world we are living in, that a Navey mine sweeper can not see the depth of the water ahead of it? for 350 bucks you can buy a fishfinder that may have been of more help. :-)

Good old paper map. Beats the electronic stuff. The Navy should rely on both all the time.
