I have some food ready in bins. I did buy propane tanks, but It is hard to carry all that stuff. I just hope our family can drive away from cities before things gets to intense. I have my garden going again this year. I see if I can harvest some more food before we have to bug out.
Yep. One thing I learned, though. You can know all the martial arts in the world, but if someone has a gun on you, the odds are in his favor (unless of course, you are at the level of Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris).
Yep. And that reminded me of something I learned back in my Kenpo Karate days... it only takes 60 pounds of pressure to dislocate a knee cap. However, the last thing any small person should engage in is hand-to-hand combat, without lots of proper training. I dislike violence and don't want to engage in it, but on the other hand, I'll be kicking myself if I allow myself to get into a situation without proper "deterrence" and protection.
I know that a well placed bolt from a hand crossbow can do as much damage if not more than a poorly shot light or medium xbow.....80lb is more than enough to penetrate human flesh....and break a bone.....attacker incapacitated, time to move on....

Self defense techniques are good to know. Worked for me to learn them when I was a kid as it protected me from bullies in middle school.

Well, I certainly wouldn't need a conceal carry for the blade. What happens if you drop it, bye-bye leg?
And yes the Book of Eli is a good movie.....The Road is a little closer to what things may be like in a post apocalyptic future....
