The 1960 were motor/gear box driven for agitated. but you still had to put the soaked wet s into the wringer and crank till you have emptied the washer into your basket to carry to the clothesline.
easy to make just takes a little ingenuity couple of rolling pins some good cord/bungies....a bucket and a board.....can accomplish virtually the same....and thats just off the top of my head.
