As some of you may know, I live on a limited disability income. Some of you have generously donated over the years, and I have covered the rest. Because of a certain situation, I won't say what and how much I have covered, but it has been equal or more (not including the time I spend working on this site), and I've been happy to do it. I promised this site would never have advertising on it, and I've kept that promise.
However, there has been a change in my finances. Not only is inflation on the rise, but my ailing adult son is living with me now, undergoing a treatment regimen similar to cancer treatment for Hepatitis C. So, for the next year I need some help with the expenses for this site. I have opened up the Donations tab (above) for those who would like to contribute.
The monthly fee is $24.95 (we have the Pro plan, see http://www.ning.com/chooseplan) plus another $25 for operational expenses (advertising and management tools).
In addition, PayPal charges 3.6% - 4.5% of every donation. And 5% sales tax is now withheld from donations. So, what is received is about 8.6% - 9.5% less than what is donated.
So, the goal is to raise $50 a month. I appreciate any sized donation. "Every little bit helps."
