On the "toe-dip propaganda" link (http://af.reuters.com/article/commoditiesNews/idAFL5E8H65EX20120606), a search of that title turned up local news (outside of U.S. embassy news) for the June 6th bombing:

And a number of ABC news affiliates came up in the search engine.
So, that statement that it wasn't published in the U.S. or that Fox, CNN, or NBC is erroneous, as well. Just because three people vetted it "to protect the credibility of the site" doesn't mean it was done right. And, as for the "significant" part of the coverage, what exactly does that mean? It was reported. I found six American coverage in the first ten pages of search engine hits, plus the UK and New Zealand, on Yahoo. I'd probably find more on Google.
As for the google map allegation, don't delete Banghazi Libya but add consulate and the Italian consulate comes up, which disputes the "one does not exist" statement the author made. In my research, I read that there is also a Tunisian and a UK consulate there too, but they aren't showing up either. I wouldn't use Google maps as a primary source of information, because obviously there are other consulates that are in Benghazi that are not listed on Google maps.
On close reading the author states, "Here is the link to the Department of State web site, with a complete list of All U.S. embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions world wide. http://www.usembassy.gov/" However, note when you go to that link, the title is: "Websites of U.S. Embassies, Consulates, and Diplomatic Missions." The question then becomes do all "US embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions" have websites? In what is presumably a smaller office in Benghazi, maybe not. So, I checked further.
If you click on the Countries & Regions tab, then on the Libya link, it takes you to the main embassy website in Tripoli. I did a search for Benghazi and found this article regarding a 2010 consular visit: http://libya.usembassy.gov/service/information-for-travelers/warden.... This sounds similar to a circuit judge, in that smaller areas are visited by a judge (or in this case a consulate) on occasion, due to not enough business to have a full-time, resident consulate. However, the offices are maintained on a permanent basis for convenience and stability.
This quote indicates that there was (in 2010) a consular office in Benghazi: "The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy is located in the Ben Ashour neighborhood on Jeraba Street behind the former Libyan-Swiss Clinic. Our phone numbers are 091-379-4560 during business hours or 091-366-2696 (after-hours number for emergencies involving American citizens only)."
Was the consular office still there in 2012? Yes, it appears so. Back in June, three months ago, there was another incident of violence. See http://libya.usembassy.gov/em_061112.html, which states: "This incident is a reminder of the fluid security situation in Libya and is the latest in a series of attacks in Benghazi against diplomatic and international installations, including the IED attack against the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi on June 6...."
So, I think the author misunderstood the scope of the usembassy.gov listing and that there is a consulate office in Benghazi.
And, for those who may not know the difference between an embassy and a consulate, check out this link: http://www.ehow.com/facts_6099011_difference-between-consulate-emba...
I am not going to comment after reading of death threats to Internet posters.
