This is all ludicrously over-the-top, but then it is not about 'protecting the Olympics'. One reason for this nonsense is to prepare the population to accept the military involvement in domestic law enforcement - precisely what is happening ever more blatantly in the United States.
'Up to 13,500 British troops will protect the London Olympics from a terrorist atrocity, it was revealed today.
The figure is 4,000 more than the number who currently serve in Afghanistan and will see bomb disposal experts, specialist sniffer dog handlers, building search teams and regular soldiers will support the police to keep the 2012 Games safe.
The Ministry of Defence added that snipers in Lynx and Puma helicopters will patrol the skies of London. Typhoon jets will move to RAF Northolt in west London from bases in Scotland and Lincolnshire so they can be scrambled to the Olympic site within minutes.'

absolutely, Byron absolutely!!!!! just an excuse or rather a practice exercise like we talked about last time. the whole thing is utterly absurd, I could talk at length , they even have separate lanes for the idiots--sorry, dignitaries to travel from the hotels to the various games. I believe the traffic lights are able to be switched if a convoy is approaching so the dignitaries are given preference and can sail right through. Last I heard. it is beyond absurd, and what if the major earthchanges begin just while the games are underway? I scratch my head thinking about it. In puzzlement.
Looks like your going into lockdown real soon. The olympics is just an excuse. You may have UN troops added.
