The only thing that goes against nature is the disgusting way we treat the animals before we eat them.
Truthfully to be respectful of nature then we as meat eaters must deal with the fact that animals are not raised in a respectful and humane manner. So I try to limit myself to free range. I am not present when that animal gives up its life to feed me . So I do the next best thing and thank Mother Earth and that animal for the sustenance provided.
The crime is not in eating meat, it is in the way they are treated and the lives they are forced to live to feed us. IMHO.
In the long run we will have to deal with the meat eating aspect of our nature. It is said that for our light bodies to develop fully we must not consume flesh. I was vegetarian for 4 years and had to go back to my carnivorous ways due to health and muscle mass issues. I may try again , but not sure when that will be happening.
Do I feel like a hypocrite? Yes , many times. Am I trying to correct it ? Yes, not easy though.
Do I believe that it is wrong? We believe nature to be cruel because survival of the fittest is cruel. Animals kill to eat and survive. We take the cowards way out and allow others to kill that which will nourish us. But in the long run the outcome is the same. We are animals on this chain of life. Albeit some of us more enlightened than others. Yet animals nonetheless.
Would I love to be more enlightened and above this need or desire for meat? Yes , I would , the road is a difficult one. One I have proven to myself before that I can accomplish. But difficult nonetheless.
So I guess until the time comes that I can overcome my bodies need for flesh I will live the life of hypocrisy. Trying to be thankful and as respectful as I possibly can to the life that was sacrificed so that I may be healthy. That is all I can do for now.
